Archery

3D Archery is something Josh and I started up doing a couple of years ago and have been doing on and off ever since. Noah and Eli joined us last year. This year Charlie became the youngest member of the "Mornington Peninsula Bowman's" and received his first bow the other week. Go Charlie!!!

The boys are very good and Eli especially has the uncanny ability of hitting the target very accurately. And yes, you may notice there are no photos of me hitting the target, and that's because I am just plain bad at it.
3D archery is basically a mock up of hunting, you walk around a set course through the bush shooting at rubber animals (usual pigs, bears and the occasional turkey, oh and rabbits lots of rabbits). Now you may think that shooting an animal would become remarkably easier when it is stationary, made of rubber and you are only 20 M away from it with no time limit in which to shoot, but apparently this still requires skills I have yet to obtain.

We are hoping to get back into it once again, now that Charlie is getting easier to cart around the place. Maybe we can even get Danny down at the club for a shoot one day!

  1. It's lovely to see you equipping the boys with the skills required to provide for their families.
