A Day in the bush in search of snow

Well you could see where the snow had been, but we didn't find what we were looking for, so we stopped anyway for a usual snags cook up and cuppa soups.
I forgot the cups but luckily we'd stopped for coffees earlier

Charlie all rugged up and ready to go.

This is the same place we came to the snow last year.

Biff would love for Charlie to drop his sausage

So we didn't find what we were looking for but we did find this awesome stream which provided much entertainment and fun.

Charlie spent ages chucking stones in the water.

And Biff spent ages trying to fetch them, he had so much fun mucking around in the water and playing with the stones

Noah and Eli thought they might attempt a river crossing but chickened out at the last minute.

It was so nice to get away, we never seem to get the chance to much anymore. Hopefully we can again soon.

Josh and Charlie

Nice to see Josh has picked up his guitar again...Charlie too

Cranbourne Botanical Gardens May 2011

The Australian Garden at Cranbourne Botanical Gardens is fantastic, kids love and you could spend hours there.

The coolest playground made out of natural rustic timber

This cool tunnel made from the forks of tress upside down

And who doesn't love a slide???

Out side the Australian Garden, there are tracks everywhere for riding or walk along, there is also another fantastic playground and picnic around about 1km walk away, nice walk getting there and a good spot for lunch. We look forward to going back there with our bikes for an explore.

Puppy and Boys May 2011

I love this photo of Noah and Biff, aren't they lovely boys.
Biff loves it when the boys bring a mattress out on the veranda to lay in the sun.

He's a really good pillow.

Eli's 7th Birthday

Eli had a prety low key birthday this year, but birthdays are always fun no matter how you celebrate them.
Opening pressies

Charlie helping of course

Charlie's 2nd birthday

Charlie had such a nice birthday!

Loved opening pressies

And playing with his pressies

Jo came to visit with gifts and cake

blowing out the candles

I loved this cake I made for his party, and so did he. Unfortunately he fell very sick with a tummy bug the night before his "Teddy bears picnic" party, so disappointing, but not to worry

We didn't end up eating much cake as we were all sick that week at some point or another, but the boys did love playing with it.

Happy 2nd birthday to our delightful little boy, you are the sunshine of our lives.

Charlie, Frogs

We have noticed a lot of changes in Charlie lately, he really is getting to be a big boy...still cute as a button though.

Otways Camp

In April we all packed up the camper trailer and headed off on yet another home school camp, this time however Danny came along which was great. We went to the Otways for a bush camp, and was very much more our style of camp. There were some great people there too, new friends and old. The weather was mostly good to us, but when it rained it poured. Kids had a blast, it was a really great camp, can't wait to go again next time.

Eli and I had a nice early morning walk and watched the sun rise.

Kobhi and Noah making spears.

Eli making spears, and after a session of bird watching and nature treasure hunt.

We got to do some felting which was heaps of fun.

Noahs "crystal cave", inside the flelt is a crystal which you cut open to reveal.

Charlie loved it too, and why not, water and soap he needed a bath anyway.

A koala came to visit our camp site.

Camping bath.

We went for a walk down to the beach, it was really nice, very wild.

sand dunes were a hit.

sandy apple, nice

The sea was very dangerous so we had to watch the kids very closely, even right at the edge big dumpers would come out of no where.

The Otways is such a beautiful place, we look forward to going back there again one day soon.
