Exercising Our Creative Muscles

I have been craving getting creative.
I have had to put off all "unnecessary" activities with all the busy-ness we've been experiencing over the last few months, so now it's time to bring it back, life seems a little less satisfying if you aren't making something, I find. It felt really good to leave the dishes dirty, the house a mess, and go to bed late all in the name of creativity.

Noah needs some new PJ's so I thought that would be a good place to start. I just got some spotlight flenny and a stretch knit top from Target (pronounced the french way, thankyou), and got busy.

I made the pants, appliqued stuff on the shirt and made a little drawstring bag to out them in...I am so happy with how it turned out, and even happier I actually got it finished. Noah loves them.

Eli got busy with the iron on double sided interfacing and made some deigns for a cute little singlet for Charlotte. I think it turned out really well. I'm sure she will love getting a parcel in the post next week.

Noah was needing to send Charlotte a little parcel too so while he made her a little book, I whipped up a crocheted flower broach. Again very cute. We had the idea to make a little bag with an appliqued butterfly on the from. While Noah designed his butterfly, I cut out some fabric for the bag. Noah enjoyed cutting out and ironing the butterfly in place (Noah definitely got the ironing gene from Gran). He'd done some sewing before, so after a quick refresher course, he set to task sewing the bag together. He did an awesome job of it too.

What a great day it's been, for me this is whats homeschooling is all about. I love it!!!

Today my oh so clever baby took 10 steps. He is just so clever. He even waited until Daddy was home AND he did it with the camera rolling. What a perfect child!

Look out world here he comes.

Go Charlie, what a huge milestone you reached...growing up so fast.

I Love you so much little boy and your Daddy is bursting with pride.

Chantelle's Wedding

At Greens Point, Ingowrie, NSW we had the privillage of attending a beautiful wedding.
My favourite cousin Chantelle was set to marry a really nice fella named Matt.
They couldn't have chosen a better location or asked for a better day.

Everyone had a blast. Chantelle made a big effort to make it a family affair, and it was. But I don't think anyone had as much fun as the bride and groom. They are a gorgeous couple.

We wish them all the happiness in the world, and may their love grow only stronger with time. May they grow old and crusty together and be blessed with beautiful, happy healthy babies.

For more photos go to my FB page (This is an experiment so let me know if it doesn't work)

Coffs Harbour Breakwall

On Wednesday 31st March we made our way down to Coffs Harbour again to visit Meema in hospital. After a quick stop for some flowers and other essential goodies we paid her a visit.
Daniel had suggested that we go for fish and chips at the fish co op down by the jetty, which sounded pretty good to me. It was a bit cold for the swim we had planned, but we did enjoy some nice whiting fillets and chips on the break wall.
The boys spent an hour or so burning much built up energy climbing on the rocks along the break wall, they literally climbed and jumped until they could climb and jump no more.

Visiting Meema in hospital

I decided to head up to Dad's a couple of weeks early to hang out with him and Valerie and see what help I could be. We manage to arrive at Coffs Harbour on our way through to Dad's in time to see Meema in hospital. She was doing pretty well considering. It was really great to see her. She liked the visit too.
